Data Description

JPSS VIIRS IP Reprocessed (RPVIIRSNG) Non-Gridded - The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) is a scanning radiometer that collects visible and infrared imagery and radiometric measurements of the land, atmosphere, cryosphere, and oceans. VIIRS Intermediate Products (IP) are products generated at a specific point in the data processing stream, stored for a finite period of time, and used internally as an input to other data processing applications. This data family includes three VIIRS intermediate products (IVOBC, ICDBG, IVCDB) generated from reprocessed VIIRS Sensor Data Records (SDRs). These products are not intended for general distribution, but are provided for interested parties because they contain onboard calibrator data as well as the un-aggregated radiometric and geolocation products (for the dual-gain bands only). VIIRS IP products are produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and are distributed by the Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS).
